The ABC’s of Real Estate

Most people see the title and assume I mean Always Be Closing, but I am not.

Really simple, the ABC’s of Real Estate…. Always Be Calling. This is so important and often overlooked. Maybe not overlooked but ignored by some. But this is the very back bone of your business.

There are many ways to ABC. One, is since lead generation is the single most important task we can be doing daily, we need to be calling on new prospects, past clients and cold calling. You also need to develop some plan to call expired’s and FSBO’s. Really I like to try and plan at least 2 hours per day for calling.

There is one thing that I really hope you take away from this article more than anything else. Live by this motto:

The Money Is In The Follow Up.

And do not think for a moment that just because you called last month that you may be getting the listing next month. At the time of this writing, I was just informed that someone I have been chasing for 18 months, listed with another agent….

I have talked on the phone several times, note cards etc.. Then BOOM, his house is listed and under agreement in 3 days. I beat myself up every time… Could I have called 1 more time, did I screw up?

So it is CRUCIAL that you:

  1. Call

  2. Nurture

  3. Follow Up!

There are many good auto dialer systems out there to use, some CRM’s come with dialers built-in. Also, your phone has a cool outbound calling feature as well. No matter how you have to do it. ALWAYS BE CALLING.
